About

Professional Background

Christopher D. Mano is an educator and community advocate with experience across K–12 education, adult workforce development, and non-profit leadership. His professional work has focused on education policy, fiscal transparency, and community engagement throughout Pennsylvania.

Born and raised in the Whitman section of Philadelphia, Mr. Mano grew up in a working-class household that emphasized education, service, and resilience. These experiences informed his academic path and professional focus on public systems that directly affect families and students.

His family history, including his grandfather’s immigration from Calabria, Italy in 1965, has shaped his interest in opportunity, inclusion, and civic participation.

Education, Research, and Professional Experience

Mr. Mano began his career in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic and has served in public, charter, and private educational settings. He taught in schools serving high adverse childhood experience (ACE) student populations and as a reading and math interventionist in Title I schools across Philadelphia and Delaware Counties.

Through this work, he developed an interest in how administrative systems, budgeting practices, and oversight structures affect classroom-level outcomes. This led to ongoing interest in education reform, workforce development, and government accountability.
